Cubism Study

Second and third grade students learned about how cubist artist painted pictures from multiple view points. We focused on the cubist artists Picasso and Braque.

These Cubist portraits from Mrs. Doyle's third grade class show the person viewed from the front and the side. Students painted the first coat of colored tempera different than the second color. They washed off most of the second coat revealing parts of the undercoat and the original crayon line work for the finished product.
